For real?

"The Government will make its decision on the teaching of Science and Mathematics in English (better known by its Malay acronym PPSMI) early next month, Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said."  -Star Onlie(Tuesday June 23)

Come on. Is this serious? There shouldn't be any argument on this matter anymore.

It is a fact that English plays a very important role in developing one's social skills, especially in this era of globalisation. The Education Minister did stress on this matter, yet the people just cannot accept this simple fact. No one is saying that Bahasa Malaysia is useless. It's importance just doesn't top English. Most varsities offer their science and maths based courses in English. Doesn't the rakyat see this fact?

If the Government decides to use BM again,  we all know that there will be a "scene" nationwide. And years later, the government would listen to the rakyat again and will reconsider of changing it back. It'll be like a circular motion causing your people to be nothing but confused with the "indecisive" Government. Stick to English, Vision 2020  needs it. You don't want to see signs like this now right?

Read.

Learning English by it's single subject in schools is surely not sufficient enough to improve the people's command on the language. Therefore, Maths and Science in English will not only ensure a better place in varsities, but improves their command in the language as well. Hitting two birds with a stone.

Bahasa Malaysia is the national language and it will always remain that way. You don't need to fear for its extinction for it won't happen.
