Don't be fooled easily.

KOTA BARU: PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat expresed disappointment that Umno had shot down his suggestion for a debate with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak over the PAS-Umno spat.

UMNO stated that this debate would only cause further confusion among the Malays and worsen the matter.

How will this reply possibly be accepted by the people? Many debates between the ministers have gone well so far. Surely, this would give people the answers to their load of unanswered questions. But why decline the offer, UMNO? Aren't you people powerful and intellectual? Is it possible that ou are somehow frightened with something we don't know of? Understand this readers, UMNO wants to unite the Malays but they are afraid of having a debate to settle the issues. The idea of uniting the Malays is undoubtedly beneficial to the people and the government. So why not let this debate be held?

On the other hand, we people should realise that government is only diverting our attention now. Don't believe me? Read this extract I got from the news after Australia reported its fourth swine flu-related death.

"It is important to remember that in the vast majority of cases human swine flu is a mild illness which many people recover from without medical treatment," said Victoria's chief health officer Rosemary Lester, announcing the death.

Swine flu is a serious outbreak. But note that "people can recover without medical treatment". It's not as bad as people are fearing it to be. Try to look at it the other way. Think outside the box. Somehow, the government is making a real big issue out this matter. Real big in fact, that they manage to put a real big fear in us till we forget what's going on in the "political world". The government is being shaky but they're letting us pay our attention to this matter. Some of the readers might say in their heads or loudly "Coba kau kenak demam tok, agik kau padah cam ya?" or "Would your views still be the same if you're suffering from this disease? You're only 18 and you still need the government, boy". Maybe this was not the plan the government had in mind and maybe they just won a race they didn't participate in. I'm not condemning the government or maybe what I've written puts me in that position, I just want the people to look before they leap. Not everything you see or read is true. Think twice, be reasonable and most importantly, don't be fooled easily. However, protect ourselves from this disease.
